Abstract

This study aims to describe the application of a neuroscience-based approach in numeracy learning through the Snake and Ladder Game for early childhood students at RA Pandeglang. The background of this research is grounded in neuroscientific findings which emphasize that childrens learning processes are strongly influenced by emotional activity, attention, and multisensory engagement. Play, as an enjoyable activity, provides optimal support for the formations of neural connections related to number comprehension and basic numeracy concepts. This research employed a qualitative descriptive method focusing on the implementation of activites, childrens responses, and changes in their numeracy skills after the game-based intervention was introduced. Data were collected through observations, documentation, and daily developmental records. The results indicate that the modified Snake and Ladder Game enchanced with number symbols, counting instructions, and positive reinforcement effectively increased childrens engagement, extended their attention span, and helped them understand number relationships, and process information repeatedly. These findings affirm that integrating neuroscience principles with simple game-based media can enchance the effectiveness of numeracy learning in early childhood education settings.
